Encouraging and helping your kid’s brush their teeth for 2 minutes, 2 times a day will lead your child to healthier teeth, good breath, and fewer cavities. It can also help avoid painful dental problems!

2min2x.org provides great tips and videos to help your kids get into the routine of brushing each and every day!

Here are a few “tooth to-dos”, courtesy of 2min2x.org! Let us know what you think of these helpful brushing to-dos on our Facebook page!
  • Encourage your kids to brush with toothpaste that includes fluoride.

  • Use a pea-sized dab of fluoride toothpaste for kids that are between the ages of 2 and 6, they can use a tad bit more when they’re older.

  • Make sure your children know to spit out their toothpaste when they complete brushing, you don’t want the swallowing it!

  • For any children under the age of 2, use a soft toothbrush and a little water, no toothpaste.

  • Help your kids place their toothbrush at an angle against their gums. Make sure they move the brush back and forth, gently, in short strokes. Help them reach the front, back and top of their teeth.

  • Last but not least, don’t forget to teach them to brush their tongue to remove germs and freshen their breath!
